Il Marzocco (il leone scolpito da Donatello, il cui originale è al Museo del Bargello – scolpito su Pietra Golfolina di Signa) controlla dall’alto e con autorevolezza Piazza della Signoria. I leoni sono un tema ricorrente in questa piazza: a difesa della città ed emblema di orgoglio, forza e generosità dei fiorentini.
Nel 1982 Firenze è stata dichiarata Patrimonio dell’Umanità dall’UNESCO in virtù della sua unicità e il suo eccezionale valore culturale. Visitarla è sempre un’esperienza indimenticabile, e comportarsi in un modo appropriato e rispettoso nei confronti dei suoi monumenti, e dei suoi abitanti, è il modo migliore per restituire alla città la gioia che ci procura.
In una città così amata dai turisti, e che ne attrae più di 9 milioni all’anno (una cifra in costante aumento), la sfida principale è preservarne l’autenticità, parte della quale consiste appunto nel garantire ai suoi abitanti la possibilità di lavorare, fare la spesa e dedicarsi senza problemi a tutte le altre attività quotidiane. Se non ci fossero i fiorentini la città sarebbe di certo meno interessante, meno accogliente, meno vera! Per questo ti ricordiamo alcune semplici linee guida di comportamento che renderanno più facile la tua convivenza con i cittadini, e dall’altro ti consentiranno d’immergerti nella “fiorentinità”. Abbassa il volume. Divertiti, goditi i locali (ristoranti, pub, enoteche, ecc.) mangiando e bevendo in compagnia, ricordandoti però di avere sempre rispetto degli altri, soprattutto di notte quando gli altri riposano. In estate, approfitta dei locali disseminati lungo l’Arno, dove potrai mangiare, bere e divertirti più liberamente e al fresco.
Scegli gli indumenti giusti. I visitatori si chiedono spesso cosa mettere in valigia per il loro viaggio in Italia. Con il caldo, vestiti comodo ma evita indumenti che indosseresti in spiaggia e che non sono adatti ad una città. Questi consigli diventano un obbligo se vuoi visitare le chiese, la maggior parte delle quali impone di coprire spalle e ginocchia.
Non ostruire il passaggio. Le incantevoli stradine del centro storico, che hanno un’origine antichissima, talvolta possono rappresentare una sfida per la mobilità moderna, non solo per i turisti ma anche per i residenti. Muovendoti per la città presta sempre attenzione alle esigenze degli altri: dai la precedenza alle persone con mobilità ridotta, evita assembramenti, assicurati di non ostruire i marciapiedi, parcheggia bici o monopattini solo nelle aree designate.

Have fun, enjoy the places (restaurants, pubs, wine bars, etc.) eating and drinking in company, but remember to always have respect for others, especially at night when others are resting. In summer, take advantage of the bars dotted along the Arno, where you can eat, drink and have fun more freely and in the fresh air.
Choose the right clothing. Visitors often wonder what to pack for their trip to Italy. In the heat, dress comfortably but avoid clothing that you would wear on the beach and that is not suitable for a city. These tips become an obligation if you want to visit churches, most of which require you to cover your shoulders and knees.
Do not block the passage. The enchanting streets of the historic center, which have an ancient origin, can sometimes represent a challenge for modern mobility, not only for tourists but also for residents. When moving around the city, always pay attention to the needs of others: give priority to people with reduced mobility, avoid gatherings, make sure not to block pavements, park bikes or scooters only in designated areas.
